I've been lurking on this site for probably almost a year now and now we finally have our very own Delica. His name is Maynard and his is a 1993 Delica Exceed which is jade green over light gold. We imported this guy from Zen Autoworks in Calgary (thanks Sean!), but I went down a couple weeks ago with Sean and picked it up from the container destuffing yard. My wife, Chalan, came up with the name...but I like it because two of my favorite things are also called Maynard...wine gums and the band Tool!
We drove him home to the Okanagan this past Friday afternoon/evening with no problems. The temperature would climb a little over the half way mark going up some of the long hills, but I'd just back off the throttle and take in the scenery. The combination of sitting up higher and not driving as fast allowed me to see sooooo much more on my drive home!
So far we have done the make the tailgate higher mod and leveled the rear windshield wiper arm (since it was touching the tailgate more than the window!). Next up is cd player install, captain's chair wobble fix, waxing it, and fixing up the Delica sign in the back, since it reads "ica" right now.
A big thanks goes out to Mardy who tuned up and looked after getting our Delica's compliance and inspection done. Talk about one stop shopping! We picked up the van on Friday all ready to go and even had an alignment pre-booked at Westcoast Alignment too.
Anyways, here are some photos of Maynard...

Chalan right at home in the driver's seat. She wasn't able to be with me a couple weeks ago when I picked it up from the destuffing place.

Mardy and our Delica. That van runs nicely now!

I couldn't leave the lower mainland before taking my Grandma for a drive in the new Delica!
I still need to do a photo shoot with the Celica and Delica, since I now have one of each...haha. Both JDM, of course :)
