I haven't found the air leak yet... I'm hoping it's the supply valve's lack of fuel on the WVO side that's causing it to leak some air into the diesel side... still need that hole cut for the filler, maybe today, been too busy lately but I really really need to finish it and get driving on WVO!

Finished!!! Got the filler in yesterday, back-filled the filter, took it for a 'warm-up' spin and switched over, stalled out once, restarted and it ran perfectly. Drove downtown to see the fireworks, took it up to 120 on the freeway, feels slightly less responsive, but ran normally otherwise and in the morning it started up with the usual half-second start, so hopefully that means the air leak is gone.

I used the toilet paper roll to mark the location from underneath with the tank still in it's place.

...thinking about modding the cap to be flat, (no need to crank it on with a wrench) then it will be nearly flush and look less like plumbing.

Two suggestions; Get one of those SUV mud trays for the back, cut and glue to fit the filler cap - boom baby a catch basin for any spills. Is that a access panel on that tank? If so why not put fittings top and bottom on the tanks side (easiest spot available) to be a handy sight level gauge?

That is an access panel, but there's already a sight tube:



I'm thinking about putting a T at the bottom with an LED blocking one port, facing up into the tube of oil so the level can be seen at night without having to break out a flashlight, not a high priority but would be cool.

Was losing power on the freeway going over 90kph or so and up hills, so changed the filter...



Remove the two mounting bolts and then it's easy to change the filter element.



Wasn't really sure how much oil would spill, had to be prepared. :)



Replacement filter is 5 micron and 5.1 inches instead of the original 2 micron 6 inch filter.



Noticed some rubbing on the power steering line! gonna have to adjust something.
