Official Intro

Post by mriguy »

SO, after being a long-time lurker, I can officially introduce myself as a proud driver of one of these beauties! All I can say, was that it was love at first sight! Ever since I laid eyes on a Delica I knew it was the perfect vehicle for me and my family!

My friends bug me about being a REAL family man now that i drive a mini-van. But as I point out to them, the deli is anything but a mini-van, it is 4WD! It is everything that an aerostar, safari, or caravan aspires to be (but will never be!) Ha! Plus it has the best features and functionality!

It's really to bad these babies were never available in North America, because they would have put the big 3 out of business a long time ago (as witnessed by their popularity, especially in B.C.!) But I guess that's what makes them so special-their uniqueness!

To boldly go where no mini-van has ever gone before! (mostly frestry service roads) And survive the trip!

Deli-on!

I would agree completely!

Delicas are vans and they are small, but they are no mini van!

Remember when Chrysler bragged that they "invented" the mini van? I guess the ultra cool VW "Micro-bus" produced since just after WWII doesn't count :? Just as well! Personally I think delicas have way more in common with the VW than any domestic mini-vans and why I always think of them as "buses" as opposed to "vans." A made-in-Japan 4x4 micro-bus - what more could one ask for? Welcome to the club! :M :-D

I, too, would love to refer to them as "micro-buses." My only concern would be suffering through the relentless volleys of ridicule launched from my friends who would accuse me of being the captain of the "short-bus!" But for sure, I would love to think of the Delica as a tour bus/mini-greyhound for Rock-Stars! 8-) It has way more comforts and well thought out accessories than any domestic offering! And the big3 STILL haven't caught up, 15 years later!

I always think of them as the little brother to the terra-bus...

on a side note, anyone seen Chrysler's "swivel and go seating"? what a joke! give me the delica seats any day!
