Well, its finally done. The van is gone to a good home in Victoria and our new ride is here.

Probably the only one in Canada.

Many thanks to Mardy who did an amazing job at getting it to the condition we wanted. We bought the truck from TKT and Mardy managed the compliance, service, and all the pimping. Thanks also to CVI who did all the mechanical work. Great job.

We loved the Delica but somehow it never quite fit our needs. Cramming 6 bales of hay into the back, loading it full of firewood just never felt right, so after much browsing at crewcab hiluxes and being turned off at the price and cost of maintenance we stumbled upon this beauty.

We are stoked, its 4wd Delica crewcab. Same engine (but a non-turbo) and manual transmission. We thought it would be a bit slow but actually feels quite a bit peppier than the van was.

Again, thanks to Mardy who managed everything for us - all I had to do was show up and drive it home.

Oh man - I am in love!!

Kuan - that is not only one of the sweetest Mitsubishi's I've ever seen, it's also gone to the best possible family who will put it to good use.

Please take some more pics of the motor.....your photography/eye for a good angle is an inspiration! That motor is SO clean & tidy....(I'm not at all envious!) Enjoy it.

P.S. I can't believe how quickly the little'n has grown from when I saw her.....but then again it was a year ago!

Satya's birthday is next week. I think when you came she was probably less than a week old!

As you can see its all white after the paint job and we lost the 4WD and Delica logos. - I'll pm you to get some ideas for replacing some of the Delica graphics that were on there before.

Looks like your not alone with your crew cab delica Kuan. I was talking with my friend out in Tahsis yesterday who is tree planting on Nootka Island. Everyday his crew boats from Tahsis to Nootka then drives in a crummy to their block - That crummy is a "Mitsubishi crew cab flat deck". Apparently the crew don't approve though, complaining that the drive is too slow in the deli. I bet if they were standing in the rain beside a broke-down Ford they'd appreciate that little diesel

Mine is super peppy, way more so than our van was. I've just been over the Malahat twice this week (rare) and I just cruised over, we even passed someone! I only had to drop it into 4th once and maintained 90km/hr for the most part. Its obviously not the speed machine but like you say, its very reliable. Oh and its much noisier inside than the van was being less insulated.

Actually, I'm just wondering if their crewcab is the larger truck. I think its called a Canter? That might be it...

Hey Kuan, looks like you're right - my Tahsis buddy stopped by tonight and I showed him the pics of your crew cab. He says the planter's rig seems bigger and has duel wheels on the back, but is adamant it is a right-hand drive Mitsu import so I assume it is the bigger model (Canter?) you mentioned. He said he would get some pictures when they get back to work - snowed out now - so when (IF) he does, I will post them for interest sake

Yes, Mitsu's larger vehicle is the Canter. Many people have converted them for expedition vehicles. Here's a photo of a Canter that I took in January in the Dominican Republic.

Not a crew cab nor RHD, but gives a good idea of what the front looks like.

We even have those sold here in Canada - it's called the Mitsubishi Fuso instead of Canter. GM badges it as something else, but I can't remember what it's called.

Well my tree planter buddy finally sent me some shots of the crew-cab Canter that has been rattling them back and forth across Nootka Island. The crew call it "The Slug" 'cause it is so sloooow.. Looks pretty freakin' rugged to me!

Now THAT is an awesome ride. I like the lift gate in the rear - looks like it would be very handy for loading/unloading many and large items.

I wonder what engine is in that thing to make it so slow. I was worried ours was going to be slow but its actually quicker than the turbo van was. Its much lighter too though.

I've seen them advertised with the turbo 2.5 i4, so that would pretty much explain it. Looks like it weighs a lot.
