Camping in Buffalo Pound, went to start the van to go down to the beach, and it wouldn't start. Batteries are good, starter isn't. Tried tapping the starter with some implements to encourage it, no luck. Getting towed right away to Moose Jaw.
Does anyone know the North American part no. for the starter? I found:
ME200206
M2T63271
0096020421
LTD01529
None of these meant anything useful to the guy at Partsource. Trying not to panic. Filled the van with camping stuff, not tools, but my brother-in-law seems to have a few things ( socket set, etc) in his truck.
Would really like to be able to go home to Winnipeg on Monday, as planned. Help?
Aaaaaaaand GO!!

I think I see the trouble. You've got two Mitsubishi Japan numbers there, a truncated Bosch number (with a digit missing), and I have no idea what the LTD one is.pj_jazzy_janz wrote:...Aaaaaaaand GO!!
Get the parts guy to try these (knowing what brand each number represents will help):
BOSCH : 0986020421 2042
WOOD AUTO : STR71000
LESTER : 32530
PIC : 103-492
CARGO : 113193
LUCAS ELECTRICAL EUROPE : LRS01529, LRS1529
MITSUBISHI : M2T63271
MITSUBISHI INDUSTRIAL : ME200206
Xpart in ON claim to have the Lester part in stock. Not exactly local though. https://xpart.ca/new-mitsubishi-unit-lester-32530
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Thanks Growler! I knew the M numbers were Mitsubishi Japan numbers, but after giving him the other numbers and getting nothing, I was willing to try just about anything. I knew one was BOSCH, but had no idea what the LRS meant. Speaking of which, The LTD one was supposed to be the LRS one. As a non-cellphone owner, apparently I am not as good as I assumed I'd be at typing on a screen...Growlerbearnz wrote: I think I see the trouble. So I was borrowing my brother-in-law's phone and there was real spotty service out there in the Buffalo Pound! We ended up having the van towed to Letcher's in Moose Jaw. The mechanic went in and found that the wire to the starter had completely severed!!

Thank you all for your help! I knew I could count on you guys!
