I'll be purchasing soon my overland rig and came accross Delica pictures.
Im not a mechanic so I want something fairly reliable.
Ill be traveling with my wife and soon 2 kids. Dont want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere.
Delica are a good option?
Thanks

Are you from Quebec? If so you know that the delica will be at least 25 years old. So you will certainly come across some mechanical problem. Try to go with the lowest milleage one. It will help a bit.

Hi there,

I'm also from Quebec and your name looks french indeed :? haha Yes delicas are reliable but not if you don't do regular maintenance. There is a few delica shop in BC that can answer your questions and get parts for you which is good. If you go with any diesel vehicle you'll end up in the same situation whether its newer or not. Where the delica really sticks out of the lot is by its fuel economy, different options, and size considering that it is a full 4x4 vehicle. If you don't really need a 4x4 there is the chevy vans and such that are good choices but a lot harder on fuel and certainly not trail worthy :P
