Failed inspection: Front calipers and CV boot

Mitsubishi Delica L400 production commenced in 1994 -- After much anticipation, the L400 arrived on Canadian Soil in 2009!

Failed inspection: Front calipers and CV boot

Post by Rural »

So my 1995 L400 failed an inspection. The mechanic wants me to replace the front calipers and a CV boot. Mardy figured I should be able to find everything locally (rural Alberta), and I'm close, but still have some issues. Any recommendations for online shops?

My understanding is that the calipers are identical on the 94-96 Mitsubishi Montero LS wagon, but I'm still having problems finding them. Any tips?

CV boots seem to be easier to find, easy enough that I'm convinced that I'm missing something. Is there anything I should look out for?

I've learned that the 1994 Mitsubishi Montero LS has a 3.0L engine, which eliminates any uncertainty about the calipers.

Rockauto seems to have compatible rebuilt calipers at really decent prices.

Anything obvious I'm missing?

UAP/NAPA seems to carry appropriate calipers too.

Funny the things you find when bothering to look.

R
Mitsu Montero 95-99(ABS?) for a lot of the parts you need and as you found out Napa, Lordco and many other local suppliers. Rising Sun, Coombs County, Mardy and lastly Rocky Mtn. Know what you're ordering and send pictures, note if it's left or right hand side.

if you buy Rockauto then examine every part and picture with a fine tooth comb.
So many of their parts are just slightly different and a hassle to return.
Yup cheaper if you ship to an american mailbox but PITA.

Caliper pistons are hard to find, rubber brake parts don't seem to last. I've rebuilt my brake a few times but the rubber parts break in a few months. I'm waiting on new rubber parts from Rockauto now but......

Amayama, megazip (great on line picture catalogues), both for parts numbers as well.

All this is listed in time needed.
