CV Boot Strap

Post by stever1000 »

Does anyone know where I can get the strap and tool to secure the CV boot to the hub? I previously used heavy duty zip tie (as recommended by someone else) but it slipped off. Sorry for the bad pictures, here is the spot WITHOUT the strap

Thanks

I know the tool can be bought from princess auto, but the van is on stacks right now and I can't drive there.

Is there a locally available replacement strap I can use instead of getting OEM? What's the length?

Princess sells stainless straps that self tighten. They're good, i've used them a lot on boots. Wind up the ends to tighten w needle nose pliers. Clip off the excess with side cutters.

Thanks, are these the kind that don't require any special tools, only pliers as you mention?
