Re: turbo
Only way to make sure you get the right one is to read the turbo tag number on the casting: http://www.delica.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=14171

Re: turbo
Ah! So yours DOES have a turbo! You will probably find a huge performance increase by replacing it with a functional one. As I made mention of, I also recommend you add a Snorkel to your Delica. It is one of the best performance mods you can do for the L300.punkrawker wrote:does anyone know what kind of turbo is stock on a 91 L300 exceed? discovered mine is shot so I am looking for a new turbo from ebay. shortly after getting turbo delt with I want to install a powershot 2000 PI system, just for added squirrel power for good measure.

Re: turbo
sh*t ya son!!!!! I think the previous owner pulled the hose from the air canister to the turbo because she has seen better days, it looks like my waste gate is seized open....I can hear the turbo spool up when I start it but defiantly no turbo when you hit the go faster pedal. the turbo on mine is covered in oil which might explain a few things too. so.....being on disability recovering from wrist surgery, I am going to spray down the turbo with some engine de greeser and a stiff bristle brush to clean up all the crap on the turbo and then use a mirror to look for the part/casting (whatever) number off the turbo and buy one new on ebay. might sound like a dumb question but can you or better yet should you also order new hoses, inter cooler, wastegate?
will post pics of donkey (the van, not me) soon. also, is there any other delica owners in the Calgary area?

Re: turbo
Lots of other Delica owners in cow town.
The L300 does not have an intercooler and wasn't designed for one. People have added them but they effect was apparently negligible.

What kind of performance difference did you notice after adding the snorkel? Any power gains are great for a l300 :)

Re: turbo
I have an L400 so I can't say. However, many members of the forum with L300's were talking about increased performance in their rides after the last big snorkel buy due to the air-ram effect of having the snorkel installed.Pajero wrote:Mr. Flibble wrote:Ah! I do have a snorkel installed on my L400, but I have not had it out on the highway since the install, and I won't remember enough for a comparison to be honest.
I think it would have much less of an effect in an L400 due to the bigger engine and intercooler. It would probably reduce the amount of load on the turbo at highway speeds, and potentially have more boost when moving over a certain speed.
