1993 Delica L300 Fusible Link / Relay Problem

Hi,

I'm new to owning a Delica and to this forum and have a problem when starting the engine.
Currently the second click you hear before starting the engine isn't happening and when I try to start the engine anyways I get nothing.
The vehicle lights all work fine.

After reading the forums I've seen posts pointing to fusible links and relays but I'm not really sure where these are located or which ones are likely the culprits. Has anyone had similar experiences and been able to solve this problem? I'm concerned a relay or fuse needs replacing.

I removed a wire with connectors on each end just now because the insulation was damaged but the connector assembly seems to have continuity still. Does anyone know if this is a fusible link by chance? It was coming from one of the battery cables and the wire is green. See included photo.

Attached also is a photo of the cables connected to the batteries after the batteries have been removed.

I had no second click too. Tighten the battery pole and solved it. You may have different problem but check that first :)

Battery post connections were fine. Thanks for the quick reply though.

One thought I had is if you look at the "battery cables" picture I posted I noticed there is a connector at the top centre of the photo that has nothing plugged into it. Does anyone know if this is connected to something in their L300? I'm wondering if this got disconnected when I removed the batteries.

Also, the other question I have is does anyone know where I can buy a new wire/connector assembly like in the photo "fusible link" I posted? I'm not sure if this is a fusible link or just a regular wire.

As for the part, send email or phone one of the garage-dealers specialized in Delica in BC. Send them the picture.
As for the problem we got; some found the the electronic mother board behind the driver seat and need to be replace-refurbished if faulty. Again, your best source maybe those dealers unless you want to check and fit it yourself. Keep us informed once you found the problem, it may help other eventually.

I don't have a L300, but the picture looks like a piece of a wiring harness, it would not be a fusible link. If the connector is still good and you have continuity through the connection, it is probably not the source of your problem.

It does sound like one of the fusible links has cleared based on the symptoms. A quick Google search, they look like they may be inside the black connectors in your picture. If you find them and one is cleared, I would recommend buying 2..... it may take some troubleshooting to figure out why a fusible link cleared, and you may need a second one.

As far as a connector with nothing plugged into it. The factory wiring harness would be made for all of the options possible. It is not uncommon to find a connector without anything plugged into it.

The short wire with connectors must be connected to run the engine. I know - I broke mine changing the batteries and didn't realize it. Once I rewired it and plugged it in all was good. Both ends are in part of the wiring harness.
If that doesn't work it probably is one of the fusible links.

Thanks everyone.
I found out the problem.
It looks there was another short wire with connectors that is used to connect the two black connectors in my photo.
I must have removed this temporarily and forgot to reconnect it when I tried to start the car.
Once I found it and put it back I got the second click back.

During the process, the green wire with connectors broke completely as it was just hanging on by a portion of the wire.
I'll try going to one of the Delica dealers in town to get a new one.
