some today, most over the last 2 years. Today I finished up by turning a 14mm x 1.5 pitch EO tube fitting, drilling and tapping it to 1/8"- 27 NPT and replacing the engine oil sump drain plug allowing the VDO oil temp gauge sender to be installed. The Trans temp sender is installed in a T inline before it enters the radiator cooler (heater). I really racked my brain on this as no matter where I felt it should go to the cooler or from I had an argument either way. In the end the to won out as it makes more sense to know when to back off the pedal and the hills. If planning this mod remember that being the T for the sender is attached by two lengths of rubber hose so it will need to be grounded separately by way of a wire. The oil press was straight forward with the exception of the banjo where the OEM oil press switch is mounted is tapped metric I believe. My VDO sender is 1/8" NPT and so I ran a tap down to "chase" (out) the threads. I wouldnt recommend this normally as adapters are available but being lazy what is done is done. I used some hardening permatex and tef tape and there are no leaks in the last 3 weeks since install. Originally I attempted to install the switch on the side of the T but being metric and the T NPT I talked myself out of it. It turns out the VDO sender has a second pin specifically to take the place of the switch circuit and so I lucked out. This is why I should read directions before the install. Imagine that... 10bar (147psi) seems to be a bit overkill as it hangs around 1.5 bar at idle when warm.Its what I had in my drawer and and otherwise works fine. I cant tell anyone the brand of the gauge panel as it was a $5 used vic score brand new but the package is long gone. The price fit and amazingly so did the panel. The boost and pyro I installed after buying the van a few years back. With all of the autometer gauges I recommend buying the LED bulbs to increase the brightness at night. The pod for the gauges is from ebay. Funny story, after ordering the RHD pod they sent me a LHD pod because I live in NA. I told them I asked for and bid on the RHD. In the end and after some confusion I recieved what I ordered. Anyone looking for a nib LHD pod? Not the greatest fit nor will it pass for stock but really its not bad and it does the job its designed for 110% My final mod today is the lego I phone cord holder thanks to my son. We negotiated on the lego. I have no idea why the pictures are upside down and sideways. Sorry to your neck... They are not ness in order of this description either. Thanks for looking.

It's Vanstock 2014 here in my shop. we have one week before our honeymoon road trip adventure so I'm getting caught up on all the things I've been meaning to do on my 94 l300. Finally installed a lift in my shop so got a half decent inspection in finally.

-full on clean. vacuumed and shampooed carpets, cleaned upholstry, windows trim etc...gonna be living in this thing all summer, so yeah.
-construction of bed/storage in rear (photo's after completion tomorrow)
-replaced front and rear speakers with Alpine type S. I just cut off the connectors from the old speakers and used the quick connects, super easy.
-finally finished all my paint touch ups (endless stone chips on front bumper)
-oil/filter change

I completely ruined my curtains trying to dye them a darker color. So I'm off to fabric land tomorrow to start from scratch.

Sandblasted the tubular step bars and getting them back next week with fresh black eurethane bed liner.

Been over a year and got sick of looking at rusty white powdercoat.
Yeah I joined the Dark Side because the medical plan is top shelf!

Down to CCA for a regular service. The lads did the usual sniffing about and suggested popping in a new fan clutch in as the old one is the original and so twenty some years old. I always follow their advice and had it done. The old one was still OK, but clearly had done it's time of service. An important part and one that can play a role in overheating and head cracking. Still on the original head too and hope to keep it that way for sometime to come... Thanks again to CCA for this and for the years of good service and advice :)

Re-indexed the torsion bars on the L400
I originally had the nasty star look and figured I should
try to level the van since it's going in for lower ball joints
and will be needing a wheel alignment at the same time.

With the 2" lift those torsion bars didn't want to go even
with the re-indexing...

I'm sure I need to mess with some bump stops or something.

Needed new wiper blades, so I decided to repaint those rusty/corroded wiper arms. Was also noticing that the mirror arms were looking bagged as well.

While sanding the mirror arms I couldn't help but notice how little finish they had. A few rubs with some 600grt and I was down to bare metal.

Mask off, a few passes with the ol' matt black and everything up front is near new looking.

Gauges installed in new-to-me pod. Hopefully install the sensor wiring this week. All the power comes directly from the factory harness so I can utilize the existing disconnect.

Installed an HID kit and installed most of the gauge senders.
If anyone sees anything wrong with the sender please let me know! Also, those with boost gauges, what did you use for a tee? And where did you get the fittings?

Nice install.

For the boost I used a brass female T and 2 brass 1/8" ( I think) hose barbs on the small line from the TC compressor side volute fitting which runs to the fuel pump. I t'd in before it is hard pipe. I then ised a small compression fitting and Farrel to attach the plastic line supplying the gauge.

FINALLY, after owning our L300 for more than 6 years, we replaced our Japanese batteries. There were a couple days last winter that we had trouble.
Not this year. Spent $463 on two batteries that have 770 CCA each. Shouldn't have any issues this winter!

Installed new HD torsion bars and saddles. Review to follow my hunting trip next week.

Machined 4 toyota 16" rims to fit my new 99 V6 Chamonix. Tires to come next month.

Built and painted a new trailer hitch with 2x2 extensions to support a new motorcycle carrier for my XT350 yamaha dirt bike.

Beefed up a new motorcycle carrier and installed running lights and backup lights to keep me and the policeman happy. Temporarily moved my licence plate to mounts on the M/C carrier so it could be seen from the rear.

Last but not least, ran my dirt bike up on the carrier, strapped it down and tested it for 3 days. Hooray!!! nothing broke off except the plastic LED tail lights. (replaced with steel trailer lights.

Covered the bike with a new motorcycle cover to keep it clean. Nice!

Next step, load up the van and go hunting for a week. :-D :-D :-D

jealous that you are hunting this year. I am in school full time now, therefore I cannot. :-(

anyways I was just curious to know how you dealt with bringing your 'animal carcass' home in the van.
do you strap it onto the roof or wrap it up and drag it inside?
