For those interested in a FRONT locker for the L400 Delica, here is what you need to know; I found all this after a protracted Google search.
You need to look at the top of your front Diff:
You want the diff code KN5 written on the top of the diff - in that location it is hard to see. Most common diffs are KN4 and KN21. These will NOT work.
You will need to source a KN5 from a MANUAL transmission Pajero.
For the locker itself, you need an "ARB RD110"

You MAY need to cut 10-12 mm of the shaft off to fit in the Delica, then again you may not.
As for me, I am still waiting on my wrecked Montero.

Can't wait to see the install. I found a wrecked pajero with everything but the locker, and I mean everything: navi, heights adjustable suspension, just no locker. One of these days...

Just need the ARB then for the front. I need the rear locker set from a Montero SR. You will probably want the same rear locker if you don't already have one.Feds wrote:Can't wait to see the install. I already have the 9" LSD rear, so I don't need to swap the entire rear housing in my case.
Also, due to some archaic laws I won't be doing any of this work for 3-4 years. That is when I can insure and drive my Delica again.

Re: Mitsubishi Factory rear air locker
Well, I now have access to a shop. My Delica should be street legal in 2019.
I have found some salvaged Montero SR's around, and I know I can get them but....
HOW?
How does one go about getting a salvaged vehicle from auction? Sure, I know the websites to go do, I got that.
I don't know what the procedure is around actually obtaining one of these vehicles!
Ironically, I live just down the road from a wreckers, who has a Montero - but it is an LS not an SR. So, once I have pulled the parts I need, I just need to drop the remainder off there.
I know Jesse has done this, but he isn't around the forum anymore.
Has anyone else gone through this process? I can find the vehicles I want, now what?
