Hi all
What does everyone here consider "high" mileage on an L300? I've noticed that a lot of the units for sale have over 100,000KM on the clock...at what mileage does the 2.4L diesel become tired and/or run down?
Many thanks!

Re: high mileage?
It is not uncommon to find diesel engines, that are properly maintained, with over 500 000 km. That being said, don't let the 100 000 km listed on the advertisements scare you off - those are the ones just broken in. The ones with less distance than that have either been sitting around or potentially had problems. This isn't always the case, but sometimes. A good one to answer this would be CCAutos.

Re: high mileage?
Hi, it depends on the condition of the vehicle, not all high mileage is good, mostly when you see the condition.it depend on where they used in japan. some low mileage is real but now not all low mileage is real they turn the mileage down or change it in japan, its just depend on the importer to tell you the truth if low mileage is real & you can see it when it arrived if you know about car,
in other words it depend on the condition when you see the car. 100-140 kms is fair enough, but higher than that its a 50/50 depends on the condition you have to see before you buy.
hope this help;

Re: high mileage?
Does anyone have the B50 mileage number for a Delica diesel? B50 is where 50% of the engines require a major overhaul.
Class 8 over the road trucks can have a B50 up to one million miles, but that is obviously not what we are talking about here....

Re: high mileage?
for me , Im alot more leary of buying one with under 100,000 km on it, unless I have all the maintenence history, If an the vehicles hasent been driven that much in 15 years, your potentially looking at alot of seals that have shrunk up and issues with trans, diffs, and engines , in japan they have an inspection process called a Shaken, and every 24 months each vehicle has to be 100% mechanically inspected, so at least you know within the last 2 years its been looked at, but if the vehicle wont pass inspection they can dump it at auction just befor the next inspection is due. but I think im starting on a much longer post, but ya, diesels that are taken care of will last you a very very long time.
