Hi All,
I have a 1987 Exceed. The heat comes out of the dash area just fine. But with the heater control in the rear set at "high", I don't seem to be getting any heat out of the overhead rear vents. Is there a second heater core for the rear, or the heat just not getting that far through the ductwork?

Re: Heater Issues?
Be sure to have the master rear fan switch on (lights up, switch is located on the front dash), and then turn the fan switch located on the rear climate control console on. Crank the heat to maximum and see. The master switch and the rear console switch must both be on to use the rear fan.
Yes, there is a second heater core in the rear.
Also, if the fan in the rear is working, then it could be an obstruction in the air vents, or there could be a issue with the fan or rear vent flaps.

Re: Heater Issues?
I know on my L300, the heat only comes out of the floor and doesn't come out at the top. I thought it was broken until someone else on here set me straight on this. In fact I don't think it comes on at all in the rear unless it's set to blow out at the floor....
Stay warm, It's been a tad chilly this winter..... :(

"Yes, there is a second heater core in the rear."
This would explain it, as the fans are working and air is coming out the overhead vents, but no heat.

I'm the same as philmeup1.. I thought mine was broken till told otherwise. The top vents on my 300, and I think most 300's, are only plumbed for cold air but I get awesome heat from the floor vents.

Heater Issues?
I'll confirm that. Low for heat (vents), high vents only for air conditioning or cool.

Why would you want to? Heat rises, cool falls. Strikes me as a brilliant design, no?Phill wrote:not to hijack this thread to much, is there any way to change that ?

Re: Heater Issues?
It does make sense and I have confirmed I get heat from the lower vents so everything is working as designed. It would be nice to have defoggers blowing on the rear windows, though. However, compared to all the domestic vans, the Delica should be called a Delicadeluxe.
