Possibly need a new head..... Ideas?

Post by shaner »

Hi all

So I posted a while ago that my l300 was running rough. Turns out that I have zero pressure in my cylinder 3. I am expecting the worst and I think my timing belt slipped. Crappy since I had it scheduled for service three days later. The mechanic in Saskatoon will start working on it in the next few days and I want to ready to order parts to get the job done. Any ideas on where to get a good cylinder head for a good price? Mardy seems to have the best deal out of the guys with parts online since he includes all of the gaskets needed.

Has anyone bought a head from another online dealer? e-bay?

I am just assuming that just the head is troubled and not the piston and so forth.

Thanks for any advice.

I picked up an ebay head with gasket kit, delivered for about $600.00 last year. Check the ebay UK site. Cheapest source for a complete head. Having said that, shouldn't need a new head unless the casting is cracked, which would give you a pressurized cooling system and coolant burning. Sounds more like a valve issue, which should be serviceable.
