Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

turbo guage wiring

Post by north54 »

Hey guys, my old skool Blitz racing turbo gauge has been disconnected since I purchased the van. The air hose seems to be connected but the wiring is loose running into the stereo holder so it won't read.

There is a yellow and a black wire. Can I hook the yellow up to any source that provides power upon ignition? I assume the black is a standard ground.

Cheers all.

I see nobody took this one on, so I figured I'd chime in a word of support.

I know nothing about turbo gauges, but based on what you've described, I'd have the same thought as you.
I'd connect the positive to a power source which comes on after the key is turned, rather than straight to the battery of something like that.

most (not all but most) mechanical boost gauges do not power to operate. If you have an air line running from the back of the gauge and it is connected to an air port on your turbo, the gauge should work. If you only have two wires these will be for your back lighting. Meaning the wires should be connected to you lighting circuit. If you are unsure run a jumper to your battery and test drive. If the gauge is still inop then its either not connected through the air line, has a large air leak somewhere, or the gauge is shot.
