Finally got a Delica

Post by scramblerman »

Been on here for close to two years, but after finally selling the Impreza, I got around to buying my Delica.

It's a 1996 L400 low roof, diesel, auto, two sunroofs, eight seater (removed the jump seat though) with about 84 000kms. Bought it through Mardy and picked it up in late November. At my request, Mardy put Goodyear Duratracs on it and I'm quite happy with the little thing. Changing my driving for 120hp with an automatic, as opposed to 500hp and a stick in my Dodge Cummins, hasn't been hard. I guess I'm adaptable. Different tools for different jobs. I still like taking the twins (turbos on the Dodge) for a drive once in awhile.

Now comes the usual things like deciding what mods to make, and what has to be changed soon, like the stereo. I'm looking for AM/ FM/ iPod compatibility, but otherwise nothing fancy. I know many answers will be found with searching the forums, but if anybody has suggestions on make/ model/ installer, I won't complain. I'm also looking for a receiver style hitch, preferably 2" square. A few people had suggested Burnaby Hitch, but they say they don't carry them and referred me to E&H. Again, I'll keep searching, but suggestions are welcome. I may end up having to make my own, though.

All for now.

I installed this deck:

And have never been happier. It was a super easy install after picking up a $5 adapter on eBay. After install, I basically just bought a bunch of 32gig usb sticks, and can have my entire music collection in the car. It also supports line in, and bluetooth for calling and music. The touch screen is also a nice touch, and make navigating music and menus a breeze. I highly recommend it.
