Hello,
I am having a hard time with finding a muffler apparently. I took it to the muffler shop here but they where not very helpful. I have a Delica 1993 300. Can someone help me with a part match here? Would be very helpful.
Thank you,
Caroline

WHERE are you? your id doesnt say. I also went thru your previous posts, but still dont' know, so kinda hard to help.
In general, do not go to chain stores, as they only use complete bolt on sets. Find an independant little dusty shop run by old guys who wear dirty welding clothes, who dont use computers, and have 1960 or 1970s classic cars outside, they will just cut and measure and weld to fit exactly, much cheaper than the chain stores. I got mine for $230 dollars, beautiful, and just ask for a quiet muffler.
Best thing for muffler is to get it side exhaust out the drivers side, with wider pipe than factory, engine will run cooler, and give you slightly better uphill speed. So ask for 2.5 inch, taken from the factory flange that connects the muffler to the engine outlet, they can reuse the same factory flange. dont need stainless steel, just cheap basic pipe. dont bother with buying funky bolt on ends of the tail end of the piping, it is garbage expensive bling.
Quiet Muffler in Burnaby on Kingsway near-ish Imperial is exactly what you need.
Cheers Christine of The Tardis Deli.

I agree,
When I updated mine I went to a little shop and told them what I wanted.
No Problems.
I prefer keeping the out the back system. Less black soot on the tire and edge of the
paint. And quieter.
To each their own.

Re: Muffler whoes
It sounds pretty unanimous around here that 2.5" exhaust is the way to go for L300. I've asked around and Hoegler's Muffler in Richmond sound like the cheapest for a 2.5" side-dump. You can get a 2.5" rear exit but I would bet you are paying $200-$300 more for that.
I haven't gotten mine yet (still stock but rusted through) but will be upgrading in December before my next (and final!) aircare is due.
