I just purchased a 6" lift and could use some tips

I stumbled across a great deal on a (presumably) complete 6" lift kit last week. It's a Japanese kit from Auto Garage Champ. So after about a week of searching posts on the Delica forums and google about lifts, do's, don't's, caution this caution that, I broke down and bought it. I couldn't resist. :lol:

I'm ready for some criticism but this kit is getting installed one way or another, and if anyone has any tips or suggestions please let me know. I'll be installing the kit starting September 1st. First off, here's a pic of the kit as it would be purchased new:


Here's a pic of the used kit that I purchased. There's a bunch of smaller bits that were given to me but not pictured here.


My day job consists of working on 4X4, 6X6, and 8X8 military vehicles so I'm confident I can pull this off, but who knows? I might need a tip or two. If you have experience with this particular kit or similar kits, please let me know. Here is a numbered pic if you have any specific tips for any particular item:

I'm wishing you luck with your install. I can't really help you as I went a different route and lifted my wagon about an inch and a half, maybe two. I did this by adding an extra leaf in the rear suspension (and re-indexed the torsion bars to match the front). I'm sure there are members on here that can give you some advice.

Awesome!!!!! Wow!!! What all did you have to extend? Drive shafts and whatnot? When you drop the subframe does the motor come with it? Or do you space it out? That looks great, nice work!! I'm VERY interested in the how-to! I'm a big fan of these big lifts..... What size are those tires?

Macro, is that your deli in your avatar? I ask because I just picked up the same JAOS bullbar and could use a few pics of the mounts underneath and under the corner lights.

The only thing I had to extend was the steering shaft which was included in the kit. The engine/transmission/transfer/diffs all drop with the subframe so I had to relocate the radiator as well. The tires are 34x14.5 16.

Yes it is, I'll try and snap some pics for you today! That lift really looks awesome. Any welding required or is it all bolt on? Did it come with rear spring spacers? I see the huge balljoint spacers in your pic.

Have you regeared your diffs for the 34" tires? I like the looks of the lift and tires but from I have been experiencing taking my l300 off roading, im not so sure I want a lift anymore....something about already being top heavy, crawling up hills and working around big ruts just seems like a fast track way to put her on her side. I AM NOT AT ALL TRYING TO CUT DOWN YOUR WORK!!! Just something I have experienced wheeling. Top heavy vans tip over easier than lifted trucks and suvs IMO.
