DELICA light

Post by Matt&Kim »

Hi guys!
I just found a photo of a delica's rear door at night which confirmed my suspicion that at the DELICA letters on the rear hatch above the lock light up!
I opened up the door panel and found the light sockets, had to replace the sockets and bulbs to make them work but they work!

I haven't seen it in the dark yet but I'm thinking the multi LED 194 bulbs i put in are under powered. The bulbs i replaced looked like small H3's.
Just wondering if anyone has fiddled with this set up and has any input, can't wait to see how cool this looks!

Now to go replace all the plastic clips i broke! 8-)

I ended up securing the panel with silicone. It worked well.

I did an led mod, you have to replace with very bright leds to make it match or exceed the original

Pic quality is a bit poor but the led is the left hand brighter side.

Pretty sure its these I used, you unscrew the silver collar and remove the lens, and mod the bracket slightly:

Thanks for link thats exact what I'm talking about. It turns out the led's i put in aren't strong enough, they were just some spares I had for dash light replacements. I'm going to hunt tomorrow for some better bulbs to put in! It just looks like glow in the dark right now. Super cool though!! Excited to get these working. I don't suppose anyone has the part number for the original bulbs? That would help me out...

Woohoo! They just don't make things like they used too :P
