Search Function Kaput?

Post by DasBung »

I first noticed this on Sunday night. Whenever I try searching things using the Google custom search I get it a message saying the requested URL was not found on this server. Also, it states a "404 not found error has occurred".

I have been able to view posts/discussions by means of browsing through and accessing them through the forum topics ( in this case "General Discussion"), but when I try and search the same post/discussion via the search bar I get the error. Now I know the posts exist as one can access them (Movember/Creepy for example), but when trying to search that same post, the error message occurs.

I would assume something is running amok with the delica.ca server(s) as the posts are in fact there and accessible, just not through a search. What really adds to the confusion is why it states a 404 error has occurred, when the posts (at least to my knowledge) are still up. I can post a screen shot below.

Decided to post this here as opposed to "Site Suggestions" to hopefully garner a wider audience. Does this happen to anyone else, or am I just special?

-Mods, feel free to move this if ya want.

Not Kaput... But we are dealing with a technical issue relating to the search-friendly URLs (had to upgrade the Apache server software, and unfortunately the old version of the script is not compatible with the new).

I've now purchased and installed the latest script version (which should restore everything to normal). However, its not functioning correctly yet and I'm working with the author toward having this restored.

So, it may be another day or so of "search chaos"...

Thanks for you patience!

OK - Script seems to be now functioning correctly, and our URLs are writing again.

The Google Search functionality seems to be restored. :-D
