no fuel

Post by Super Exceeded »

ok, we are still stumped on why the engine wont run, I have discovered that there is no fuel coming out of the filter when cranking (manual pump pumps fuel)

So my guesses are

Fuel pump no good
fuel pump power no good
shut of solenoid is staying on.
something else......:(

So what are your guesses and where would i look for each?

THX in advance

i can answer about the solenoid. its aft on the injection pump. theres a wire to it. the whole thing bolts in sort of like the way a oil pressure sensor bolts in.
if you power it directly you should hear it click

if you cant find it let me know and ill take a photo of it it the AM

Have you cracked the injector unions to let any air out?

Yup although I was told last night that they should all be done at once, not one at a time, so I'll need to do it again.

I also just noticed that fuel is leaking from the seal on the fuel filter, this I guess could also be letting air in?

you could try to run a line bypassing the filter.. you could install a site glass in the line before the IP too to see if you see bubbles

So this thought was passed by my desk. What are the odds that I have a couple clogged injectors??? After this I will be forced to take it to a shop....
