Amazing Auto Delica LHD?
What happen with the thread of Mardy saying that he can have Delica LHD?
For Quebec,it's great.Even for other province,it's a good thing.
I wish to have all the news on that subject.
Will they be equipped with crystal light roof?
Thanks.

Re: Amazing Auto Delica LHD?
advantage would be a comfortable LHD and being in a position in a vehicle designed for diving on north american highways and roads. and a sliding door on the correct side of the road if you have kids.konadog wrote:Strada 92 wrote:Even for other province,it's a good thing.![]()

Pretty sure the LHD's from Taiwan are all conversions so the sliding door would still be on the road side...

Re: Amazing Auto Delica LHD?
I have imported LHD Delica's from Taiwan. Here's my experiences and why I won't be doing it anymore.
- They are factory built CMC LHD, not conversions
- More expensive to ship because they have to go to Japan first - then to Canada
- More expensive initially just for the vehicle
- You don't find them in the condition you would in Japan. Overall they're quite poor in condition... I had countless inspected and they ALL had issues. The best one I found still costed thousands to bring up to acceptable driving condition.
- They have no seat belts in the rear at all
- They have zero DOT markings ( including all glass front, sides and rear )
- They have no fancy models available. There's no such thing as crystal light roofs, hot/cool boxes, etc.
- Could not find 1 L400 when I was looking. All were L300's and 90% manual transmission

Most of the CMC built LHD Delica's have dual sliding doors.konadog wrote:Pretty sure the LHD's from Taiwan are all conversions so the sliding door would still be on the road side...

Re: Amazing Auto Delica LHD?

Re: Amazing Auto Delica LHD?
ah its not about for sale:
anyway short and long story will just keep it that way.
its about the introduction for this LHD as per my customer request.
as i found that our fellow delica lover who are i quebec and ontario high insurance cost RHD than LHD.
dont have any choice as per the situation. i am just here to help them to see if that could work for them.
it will take me lots of time and effort before i can put it together .
not easy to get nice lhd L300 and L400. but will try my very best.

Mardy

Re: Amazing Auto Delica LHD?
i have a LHD Delica and i am currently camperizing it. i think you can still buy them new as a commercial vehicle from the china motor corporation. Mine has been pretty good so far. like william said it was not in the best of shape. after i bought it when i was fixing some of the rusted bits in the back, i realized it had been in an accident. (possibly several) i'm guessing taiwan is like some other asian countries i have visited where it's full contact driving. anyways mechanically it's been pretty good so far, and yes it is nice driving in the north american configuration. annoying was the lack of seatbelts in the back, but i have partially fixed this issue with the seats from a crashed delica w/seatbelts. anyways, still working on mine. trying to track down the exact year of manufacture and cross reference the china motor corp. plate with a japanese model/chassis. if anyone can offer help with this it would be appreciated. i'm in the process of emailing CMC and i'm hoping for a reply.
