Radio working but not properly after jump start

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Radio working but not properly after jump start

Post by Mango »

I went overseas for 4 months, leaving my 93 Deli with a friend that was going to use it, long story short he didn't, result one completely dead battery.

Only having a little hire car until we got the Deli running and all checked out we thought better of trying to jump it ourselves and called our breakdown co. The guy got it going but only after several attempts where it started out sounding hopeful and progressed to sounding bad (this was just using their normal jump start system) then he added a second battery jumper thing and with the 2 together it soon fired up.

The radio now works, so the fuse is ok, but sounds awful. If I'm really lucky and swear at it and hit it enough I can get it playing normally for a while so it's not a problem with the speakers, but I have no idea how to go about fixing it and don't want to buy a new radio without having an idea whether that actually will solve the problem

All thoughts appreciated, can't bear being without music

Is it an aftermarket deck?
