I wouldn't pay more than $10,000 for an L400 in this day and age. I have a fully serviced plus all the things fixed that my dealer left unserviced 1995 LWB Royal Exceed for sale for only $9500. WOW!! 8-)

Chamonix was, for the most part, a seat fabric and carpet package different from the Jasper or the Super Exceed. The "winter package" means they came with two batteries instead of one, and they did/didn't come with a rear limited-slip differential (depending on year/model).

Although I was not too interested in the L400's when they became available (because they look too much like the soccer-mom-minivans we already had in North America), I did notice there tended to be less packages than previously. Or maybe there was just less availability, I don't know.

Soccer mom? I will have you know I drive my daughter to music class, so I guess that makes me a music dad :-) I don't understand the lack of love by so many 300 owners and Paj lovers. I can really appreciate the cool factor of an L300 and the way a Paj stands out in a crowd. I like them all, and when I park next to a north american POS I can definately see the differences.

I think it is time that everybody, especially the 300 owners, share the love. Sure my 400 doesn't look like a shuttle pod from the Enterprise but it does look pretty sweet. Maybe it is just me. :M

I believe Mitsubishi just did not make Chamonix model for LWB without any logical reasons.
there was no necessity to make WLB with low trim level Chamonix.

When it comes to gas L400, I would agree with that.
I like diesel delica/pajero.

Hi dkaiser, welcome to Delica Canada :M

I was reading up on the Space Gear, Mitsubishi refers to the "SWB" for the Space Gear as "Standard Wheel Base" as opposed to "Short Wheel Base" as would usually be assumed. I suspect the reason for this is the L400 SWB is 110 inches, which in most circumstances is a Long Wheel Base. Of course the Space Gear has a Long-er Wheel Base, not sure what the axle spread is off hand ~ I suspect this is what you are looking for. In the L300 Starwagon, the Chamonix is a winter package (what I own), which means duel battery; bigger alternator; more clear coats on the paint job; more resilient upholstery and carpet. Perhaps You can use this parameter to find a LWB L400, it just won't have the word Chamonix on it. You could make your own decal for it.... just a thought.

Falco.

I thought the Chamonix had more than just dual batteries and the more rugged carpet. I thought it was an insulated cab that was built for the winter which I thought would be perfect for the edmonton winters. The dual batteries, stronger starter and alternator are all easily added on to a super exceed L400. I did however like the Chamonix badge on it. looks different and stands out more. I have one picked out now,the bid starts on wednesday.just got inspection on it in japan and it looks great. "95 super exceed LWB" im quite new to this whole Delica thing, having a large offroading super van haha. I recently sold my 2006 AUDI S4 to buy a delica so I can accommodate my new Cane Corso and have awesome camping trips. I hope you guys can help me out along the way with my new beast. Its gonna be a journey. Thanks for all the info

Take care

Hey Dane- If you ever want to meet up and see a SWB Super Exceed I would be happy to let you take a look and even a cruise if you want. The Chamonix is quite cool but the retro interior may cause seisures :-) Mine also has the winter package. Nice to have more vans showing up in Edmonton!

X2. If you think you have undiagnosed epilepsy, your welcome to come in for some Deli-special analysis. Just let me know! Albeit it is an L300..
