Out Of Curiostiy...

Has anyone received, or know of someone whom has received a speeding ticket in a Delica, ever?

No, but I've been pulled over in Flordia for alledgedly doing 55mph in a 15mph zone even though on that winding road it would have been impossible in a Delica. Luckily the guy let me off with a warning after telling me he could put me in jail and having to chase me for about 10 minutes because he was trying to signal to my passenger side and my rear curtains were drawn. It wasn't until we were at a light and he jumped out of his car and yelled "HEY" that I even noticed him there (and then he proceeded to walk up to my passenger side window when I stopped and was somehow still surprised that I was on the right even though I was signaling him to come to my side). :-D

A friend of mine got one in his L300 leaving my house. There's a big downhill (sumas hwy in abbotsford) and the speed goes from 70 down to 50 going down the hill, and he was doing 90. They let him off with a standard ticket and not an excessive, lucky for him. Not sure why a 4 lane hwy has a speed limit of 50kph. when there are no real turns in it.

I have not had a speeding ticket for more than 20 years. I think speeding is stupid. The only speeding ticket I ever had in my life was in my austin healy sprite, outside Vernon where the speed zone changed from highway speeds, to 50km/hr well outside the city limits. I'm still burned about that one.

Then again, I've driven a whole slew of slow vehicles. Although I think this topic says a lot more about the kind of people that drive delicas, rather than anything about the ability of the van to reach such velocities.

Lost my license in my deli. However it was not my delis fault and happened many years ago. I blame the car I had before.

I actually got a caution once. I was coming off the Pattullo doing around seventy, trying to keep up with somebody, then I got flagged down. He said he clocked me at ninety, I was like "really?". He let me go with the caution, for which I am grateful. Part of me wanted to say "dude, what do you think this is, a Space Gear?", but I abstained.

Of course people get speeding tickets. It's not the vehicle, it's the driver Paul (thanks but not thanks for deleting my posts btw)

L300 can do over 30km/hr so anyone can get a speeding ticket within city limits or out on the highway.

I know seven owners who have had speeding tickets in their L300's.

You guys get real tickets from real policemen? How quaint. Mostly here the police don't bother, thats what speed cameras and radar traps and the postal service is for, it's hard to debate the validity of a speeding ticket with a postman.

But no, I haven't had a ticket, in the delica or any other vehicle, the only speed cameras I set off were in the pre-digital age when they used real film, and I guess were empty.
