Very high Idle Speed about 1200rpm ???

Hey people,

I'm Jan and just bought my first delica here in Chile;-)

tec specs: 1994, 2,8 Diesel 4M40, Automatic, Transformer, 190.000km

So far the car runs very good but I have a few tecnical questions that I need you guys help for.

The biggest problem I have the the hight idle speed which is with hot engine about 1200rpm. I know that it should be around 800rpm. What they have recently changed ist the timing chain. Also they disconected the aircon that sits under the car because of a broken fan and blocked pipes. Othervise the engine runs smooth and has power as well. No black or white smoke coming out.

Questions:
Is the diesel injector pump 100% mecanical or is there a blackbox ajusting it automaticly?
I know that if you turn on the aircon the idle speed should go up. Which component tells the injector pump to increase it???
Maybe the pump just needs ajustment ?

Also there is a turbotimer fitted. Is this only there for leaving the engine running a little bit longer to cool down the turbo before turning off? (set on 30 sec.)

For some help, answers or advises I would be very thankfull!!

does not sound like IP (so to speak), there is cold/warm idle adjust above/on top of IP that sounds like it needs adjustment (heavy spring attached to this part). There is a nice step by step in the manual, if not search forum, I know it has come up before. It may take a couple adjustments alternating between cold/warm. If you have good power and no smoke, the IP itself is probably in fine condition.

So far I couldn't find the manuel for ajusting. But good advise!

When engine is cold it idles ok on about 850rpm.

What do you guys think of the Overflow restriction valve? mabye that ???
