Won't Start

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Post by visotzky »

I drove my Deli To the Grocer, and on the way there, there was a lot of clicking behind the seat from the relays(?)any way now it will not start. Turn the key and a click but it wont turn over. Any ideas.

Sounds to me like you may have had an ECU problem ( clicking ) which may have left the glow plugs on and that killed your battery. Try to give it a boost but if the clicking starts when you attach the booster cable you likely won't be able to get enough power to start. If this is the case disconnect the battery and charge it completely and then try to start it. Good luck!

I started it by jumping the starter, so power is not getting to starter. ECU then?I had this problem before and the a wire coming off the + terminal of the battery was corroded, but it looks good now.

No ECU for starting, check the battery for failure, then when running with all loads on check your charging voltage should be around 14.5v, also check the fusible link just above the battery.

Good luck

Well I might have screwed up in the past. I took the fuse out and wired it directly on an emergency road repair and forgot to replace it. It is showing the same symptoms so it could have blown further up the chain from the fusible link. Any ideas where it ties into?. A switch maybe.Battery and alt are good.

Fusible links are hooked to the battery, sounds like you need to check with a volt meter from the starter signal circuit while turning the ignition and start following the wire. Until you find voltage.

Tough one good luck

If you got access to a multimeter you can use this drawing found in the technical section ( just above L300 ) to check your fusible links. the drawing may not be exact but they are usually pretty close.

Good Luck.
