central diff lock
I recently got stuck in really deep snow had to get towed out but noticed that in 4 High and 4 low with the central diff lock engaged(orange light on) just the front drivers side wheel and the rear passenger tire were turning, I thought that with it locked all tires would turn together??

Nope, the wheel with the least resistance on it on each axle will turn (unless you have a limited slip diff on the rear, in which case both rear wheels will turn).

With the Pajeros, locking the centre differential removes the AWD function (front or rear wheels slip together) and turns the vehicle into a part-time 4WD (left or right wheels slip, separate from front and back). What you saw was EXACTLY what you want to see when in 4WD (either high or low): one wheel on each side of the vehicle rotating, trying to drive the vehicle forward (or backwards). With a limited slip rear end or a locked rear end, both wheels would be turning giving even greater traction. Of course, with too much traction and a locked diff, you could snap things, which is why one doesn't drive around on pavement in 4WD.

So if I had the central diff locked and one wheel on both axles had no traction the other two just stay put...so everything was working like it was supposed to do?, if so what is the difference in having the Pajero in 4high or having it in 4low with the diff lock engaged with all the wheels on the display green and the central diff lite up orange?

Cool got it thanks!, well all I can say is that i made it alot further than the ford and chevy trucks that got stuck only a few feet in that were trying to get me out! lol, good and bad because it was atleast 60' to the road where we linked a bunch of chains together to pull it out, just needed a tug to get it going then just stepped on it and flew out of there in reverse! , sucked was was fun at the same time

Do you have a body lift? Not just 'winter pack' but an aftermarket lift?
If you lift two inches the transfer case lever is short and can be forced forward by the console. It can slip from 2wd to 4hi.
Or is it just the light? If so prob the vacuum solonoid.
