getting perspective on a mechanic bill

Post by Ender-Beeshi »

Hello Folks,

Can you help me get perspective on a mechanic's bill? I'll say what was done and you tell how many hours you figure it could/should be.

1) Replace ring gear/flex plate. While in there replace crankshaft rear main seal, replace starter drive, replace transmission input seal.

2) Replace rear differential pinion seal.

3) Replace both sides outer tie rod end boots.

Thanks for playing!

First one 7 hours

Second one 1

Last one 1

But that's if they come apart and go together well, you could add more time easy.
Also my shop rate is $45/hr
So that gives me more wiggle room

Dustin
Measure it twice, cut once. Dam still cut wrong
