L400 sliding door HELP!
Just went to my van after a hard training session, went to throw my gear in the side door and it was a little jammed (this has happend when parked on a slant). I opened the door from the inside and now the door won't close! I am so stumped! I had to rig up a tow strap to drive home! Any ideas???

L400 sliding door HELP!
My sliding door is also cooked. It's still functional, but it needs convincing to open. Basically have to pull the rear-edge "away" from the van to open it. I believe the bearing might be broken. There is a good post on the uk blog about repairing the bearing.
I have all the bits quoted on the post. My plan is to escape a baby shower this weekend and replace the bearing.
I will let you know how it goes.
J

Re: L400 sliding door HELP!
WD40 will do the magic. I had same problem, sprayed good amount on the pivot point and solved the problem.

Re: L400 sliding door HELP!
It may not help in your case, but it is a good idea to clean and lube the track and mechanism periodically (say every oil change). A WD-40 type to wash out grit, and a jig-a-loo or white lithium to keep it lubricated.

Ah sorry thaspect, I misread your first post.
Give lubrication a try. Worked on my rear door latch.

I feel like this latch is the culprit... Have let it sit with Liquid wrench to no avail...

Re: L400 sliding door HELP!
Note, if it is a power sliding close like my royal, it helps to lightly sand and polish the closing contacts at the other side of the door. These trigger the power closing mechanism, but they need good contact to do so. They have likely also been responsible for my door staying locked shut!
May not be the cause in your case, but was in mine.

So I tried all the above suggestions plus some. I have concluded the celenoid in the door is done... Disconnected it and working on sourcing parts now
