Cruisn, what did you paint your wagon with? Is that an enamel? Did you hire someone or paint it yourself?

It normal paint, rattle can. as I offroad so much I wanted a paint i could quickly repair.

I did it all myself. I normally never have to hire out work, except for timing the deisel since I dont have a dial indicator.

I am very happy with the somewhat finished product, I still ahve a body lift and fender brush gaurds to go.

A little closer to finishing my rear bar, led lights installed. nothing to fancy, simple setup, they are very high quality lights though.





And of course on board air is nice, but having a 9L tank to help out is even nicer. welded this up for me and a mate.

Where are you planning to stow the air tank on the wagon? Excellent choice of biscuits, BTW.

it tucks up into the frame, between the body and frame rail. it should work okay.

So you are mounting it outside of the axles (instead of between)? Is the tank going to be holding air all the time or only when in use? If all the time then is there a concern of rupturing the tank, say when climbing over rocks &c.?

on the outside edge, it will be wedges between the frame and the rock sliders, and of course I will rock it full. I like living on the edge. actually though, it will be empty till about 3 minutes from the end of a trek then I will start the pump so it can fill as I hit pavement.

More work completed tonight, finished welding up 1 of the drawers.

THey are 900 long by 400 wide and 300 deep. lots of room. and very strong but not to heavy overall.

I am getting a little more done this weekend.

I have installed my aux tank so far, whihc bolts to the body. using 4 m12 bolts and large backing bars as to not rip through the thin sheet metal.

its a tight fit. very tight.

For those that are intersted its a long range automotive tank, 58L capacity. come with everything you need for the install. including electric pump to transfer fuel to main tank. its a little pricey but to get the weight off the roof and underneath in a proper tank it was worth it.

well, both tanks are in, I can now carry 190L in tanks.

win win. install was not straight forward. bolts didnt line up. pipes didnt clear.. it was not the best thing to do on a sunday. when you need the rig monday. lol

Issues with filler neck, had to weld on a pipe at 90 degrees to the tank.



The filler setup, I still have to edit the cover so its all hidden and the road spray doesnt destroy the hoses.

So... when you fuel up ~ is there a switch between the tanks? Or is it however the fuel falls in? How does it work for that? Also, are you thinking of using a veggie system at one point or just dino-diesel?

basically the filler tube is split in 2 now, as per the photo. so you fill both at once. or if your good, only the main tank by directing the nozzel to the right. hahah.

then to get fuel from the aux tank to the main tank I have a small 3l/min pump that will move fuel to the filler line for the main tank. its a simple setup. and should do the job for sure.

dino diesel for me. dont have the area or anything relating to a shed to work in to make it. :( and with the amount of back road touring I do its not worth the effort anyways. the rig maybe does 500km a month for work and only puts on large miles when I head out of town and then it doesnt matter anymore.

Drawer are in and finished... finally. my god that was a drawn out process.. in between finishing them I had time to do an engine swap!!! haha

I am happy with them. could be a little smoother around the edges.

They look pretty skukum, indeed. I would be inclined to replace the angle bead with something a little rounder, I can see that edge snagging or even cutting.
