Re: Overheating question

I wouldn't think that's a good idea as the engines are designed to run at a certain and constant temperature. That's just my $0.02.

Re: Probably need to replace cylinder head?

So I have pressure building in my cooling system after having my mechanic replace the timing belts, water pump, alternator, thermostat and put on an EGR blanking plate. Thermostat was suspect so it was changed, but still have the same issue. My mechanic has spoken with Combs and everything points to...

Re: Overheating question

My mechanic is 99% sure that some of the work that was done caused the change and I would agree. It would be a real fluke if the head gasket developed a leak while sitting on his hoist. I'm not sure what temp the thermostats are. The first one came from Amazing Auto and the second one was bought on ...

Re: Overheating question

Thought of that too, but it doesn't seem to burble all the time and no discoloration of the coolant. And this began immediately after the work was done. It seems strange to me.

Re: 4wd indicator switch/sensor

So my "Wheel Lock" light is not burnt out and works sometimes, but not all the time. I thought the bulb had just burnt out and didn't get around to changing it, but last time we had snow I was driving along in 4 wheel drive and when I hit around 30 or 40 km/h the wheel lock light came on, ...

Re: WVO experts needed

Not much progress, but only because I haven't had much time lately to find what I need, i.e. WVO supply, filter system and conversion kit.

Cheers,

FREE Steps and Bull Bars

Recently had my van repainted and after the steps and bull bars were removed I decided not to put them back on. If anyone would like them they are free for the taking. They are white and are in need of paint. You may have the fog lights as well.

Re: Exhaust Gas Temps

Time to revive this topic. Have been working on my 91 L300 for the past 8 months and just put it back on the road. Don't get too excited it's not all modified, I'm just slow! :-D Anyway one of the first things done was a trubo rebuild and also it now has side exhaust with much less back pressure. Th...

Re: Lucas oil stabilizer

Didn't have a brand in mind, just know that those companies make a engine oil flush. Do you know of one that is better than the rest.

Re: Lucas oil stabilizer

While on the topic of oil and opinions, what opinions are there out there about doing an engine oil flush with a Gunk or Amsoil product?
