Re: Manual glow plug switch, help!

Oh man, need to read the post properly before responding... Is it really the glow plug relay that's died or the ECU? Potential link of interest if it's actually the relay: http://www.delica.ca/forum/l400-glow-plug-relay-12101.html There was a good discussion a while back and TardisDeli had posted so...

Re: Manual glow plug switch, help!

Feel your pain. Went through the same exercise last fall and quite happy with the manual push-button solution. Linked to a post from last winter just below and if you scroll down about 2/3 down the first page, Raule Duke posted an overview and some pictures of how to wire one up. When I installed mi...

Re: Service zoo

I'll echo that I'm sorry to hear about your troubles as well. As someone who had the same issues in the very early Canadian days of the L400 (summer '09) it was difficult getting the problem diagnosed. Even though I was pretty sure it was the famous IP seal issue, my dealer had all kinds of other su...

Re: Keeping my Delica as I move to the United States

Really interested in hearing how this turns out. Spent a bunch of years in the US on a TN and did have other friends from Canada bring vehicles with them with no issues but as you say, the Mitsu letter is key. If the Washington registration doesn't work out though...since the TN is a "non-resid...

Re: White smoke on start up. Ideas?

Now when I start in the morning, I'm getting copious amounts of white smoke, low idle that will even stall if I don't rev it a bit. If I try to rev it a lot, it chugs and struggles for a while before kicking up to the higher RPM. It gets better once I hold it there for about 30-60sec. It's fine for...

Re: Looking for information RE:US/Canada Sales

Since we're sharing concerns over import/export... I lived in the states for a bunch of years and only recently came back to Canada. While living in Colorado I had bought a Subaru WRX and have to say that it was a real joy (read: not a real joy) to bring it into Canada when I repatriated. One of the...

Re: Problems starting in the morning or when cold ? Adjustment

Rural, *apologize for the slight hijack to talk about pump seals* Had the same issue with my '94 when I picked it up last summer. Ran great until we started getting cold mornings in late August/September. After sitting overnight it would run really lumpy first thing in the morning and got to the poi...

Re: What is your latest shoe purchase? Did you get a Dsquared sh

Thanks for the thoughtful and considerate post Deridre; it will really add to the ongoing lively discussion here at Delica.ca. I've recently replaced the front shoes and rotors on my L400. Oh right, I guess they're actually "pads" and not really "shoes"...my bad. Nothing to see h...

Re: L400 front sunroof stuck open ? Emergency fix here

Nice write-up Jesse. Coincidentally, this happened to me when I came over to pick up the ladder from you back in February and gotta admit though that it was a bit worrying and made for a cold ride home...now I kind of wish I had mentioned it to you before taking off to come back to Victoria. In my c...

Re: Pacific JDM - fast service

Since we're sharing the love... Back in October, I had a bit of a hustle on a Friday and really needed to get some parts installed over the weekend. Ordered from Paul and was extremely happy with how it all worked out. He was very quick to get in touch to sort out the details and I had the bits in h...

Re: Alternator question

I can confirm that the alt in my 94 L400 is indeed a 90amp unit.

IIRC, it was a 90a for the full series 1 L400 run but the series 2 (97 onwards) stepped up to a 110amp.

Looks like we'll be able to make this one too, and sporting a new-to-me Terzo courtesy of Jesse as well. Right now it's kind of a "ladder to nowhere" but hopefully the rack situation will get sorted before too long and the little lady will quit mocking me for it...what can you do about a l...

Re: Programming Keyless entry

Not sure if you can find a replacement fob to work with the existing system but there seems to be one major complication. Everything I read indicated that for security reasons you need a working original fob in hand to be able to add any new ones to the system and that assumes that you also have a w...
