Re: New PlantDrive.ca Delica tank design leaves spare alone.
I think mounting the spare on the front is a very bad idea. These vans are already heavy on the front / light on the rear (when not loaded), and already have a higher centre of gravity. Moving the spare from down low at the back, to up high at the front is really asking for it in terms of handling, ...

Re: What do you DO when WVO is left in the system by accident
Ok, guys trust me on this one.... here is a safer method than a torch: -if you don't have a buzzer, and you don't have an engine heater (block heater or oil pan heater), and you leave it on WVO, all you have to do is get a big pail or hot water from the bathtub and pour it slowly over the injectors,...

Re: How to install a block heater
We installed the oil pan heater on mine yesterday. Much easier than the block heater. 1)Clean pan with Brakeleen, scrape off paint, sandpaper it (comes with pad heater) 2) Install pad heater by removing peel and stick 3M, press in place, use supplied tool plastic bondospreader to squeegee nice and t...

Pad heaters in stock, easier and cheaper than block heater
Just got a few in, and put them under a new category on the site's store: "Delica".
That's what I will be installing on my new rig. Peel and stick, plug it in.

Re: New PlantDrive.ca Delica tank design leaves spare alone.
Hi, to answer David..... no..... the smaller tank will be at the rear, the same as the larger one is now, but it will be built to incorporate the spare, thus the smaller capacity.

Re: Adding weight to your Deli for the winter
Just a note as a cross-post to the SVO section. I just made a post about the new tank we are working on, which will be at the rear of the van, spare tire left in place, spare carrier left in place, capacity maybe 60 litres, not sure yet, but if it comes out at that, then 60 litres of WVO is about 10...

New PlantDrive.ca Delica tank design leaves spare alone.
Hi all, right after New Year's, we will be working on a new tank design for the Delica which leaves the spare tire where it is. Capacity should be in the 60 litre range (that's a wild guess for now). It will feature our new solid machined/welded aluminum in-tank heater with integrated return line fi...

Re: Deli WVO kits are now available!
Hi Andrew, just a comment on the installation of the Vegtherm - you should move that hose clamp that is over the red (positive) wire. Vibration will likely abrasion of the white insulation, material, and the clamp will then short out on the positive wire, with the injector line acting as a ground. T...

Re: PlantDrive gets a Delica!
The oil is heated by the in-tank, coolant operated heater, then again in the coolant-heated filter (which in future incarnations, will be the VM2... or the TurboFyner, your choice, and will be a top-mount filter (element at top) with the element also having our new filter "Took"; a neopren...

Re: PlantDrive gets a Delica!
Looks nice. I did a filler like the first one through the wall of my 1.9 Vanagon conversion a few years ago. We'll take another look at that. So far, the big "spill plate" (complete with lip out and down, at the rear, out over the rear trim, with flush filler cap, and gauge-at-rear, appear...

Re: PlantDrive gets a Delica!
Thanks for the welcome! Nice to see the pictures of our components in use - good work, I like the hydraulic fitting idea, but I think for mine, I'll stick to a gravity feed filler through the floor at the back. We put a nice spill plate around the flush-mount filler, and you can then pour directly f...

PlantDrive gets a Delica!
Hi all, well after a couple of years of lurking here and converting Delicas to WVO for others, I decided to pick up one for my own use. It is a 1991 with 63,000 km, obtained from our local importer, Mustang Connection / JCruisers, over in Armstrong (I am in Salmon Arm) and It will be converted soon....
