'93 Super Exceed Alternator?
I had a mechanic look at the van yesterday and he told me I've got 2 issues. 1) The oil seal behind the crank pulley is leaking. I thought this was the sump gasket but apparently it's just leaking on to the sump. 2) The alternator is on it's way out which is why I'm getting a bit of a rattling noise...

Re: Getting silicone off of bolts going through radiator!?
Thanks a lot for the advice. They turned out to be little plastic fasteners that were going through the radiator (it was just really hard to see with all the sealant all over them) and I managed to get them off with some careful cutting with a Stanley knife. Imagine my horror when I realised that th...

Getting silicone off of bolts going through radiator!?
Hi, The radiator fan died yesterday on my l300, it's been upgraded from viscous to electric. I thought it would be a fairly easy job for a newbie like myself until I realised the bolts, or screws (it's hard to tell), that hold the fan on have been covered in some sort of silicone sealant. Any tips f...

Re: Loss of power after brake failure
well... the front 2 calipers are feeling really hot. So I'm thinking somethings not right there. I've got it booked in to the mechanic on Tuesday so I'll update here when I know what it was for sure!

Re: Loss of power after brake failure
Yea, you're probably right... The best way to describe it would be that it feels like driving with the handbrake lightly pulled. So maybe that's seized up?

Loss of power after brake failure
Hi, A brake hose split last night (very messy!) and I've just had it replaced today. Last night after it split I was trying to find a safe place to stop and I noticed that the l300 felt like it had lost power, if I put my foot down it would rev higher as usual, but it just didn't really make any dif...

Re: Clunking noise when braking sharply
Is the bushing you mentioned the same as the anti roll bar bushings? I know they were changed just before I bought it (perhaps the previous owner was trying to find the clunk too!)
If you mean a different bushing, ill try to find it today... Thanks again!

Re: Clunking noise when braking sharply
Thanks so much for the kind offer, but unfortunately I'm a bit far away here in the UK :p
I'll be sure to look up how to check the tie rods, bushings and shocks though.

Re: Clunking noise when braking sharply
Thanks for the advice :) It's not making any noises over bumps so I'm guessing that means it's less likely to be the ball joints? I've not done any brake work before but I'm trying to learn some more about basic maintenance / repair so i guess now is as good a time as any to get started! I've checke...

Clunking noise when braking sharply
Hey, I've just picked up my first Delica and I'm absolutely loving it! One thing I've noticed is that if I brake sharply there is a bit of a clonking noise coming from what sounds like the front wheels. Could it be as simple as worn brake pads? I'm a complete noob when it comes to mechanical stuff s...
