Yes it runs fine for those 2 minutes and then starts having trouble. Lately I have been running 2 glow plug sequences to allow the van to warm up a bit before driving it and it helps quite a bit.

I have been having rough cold starts for a while now (spitting out black smoke and soot, shutting off if gas isn't pushed through the engine). I've had my glow plugs tested and changed and the IP seals changed and no change. It also seems to get really bad after the glow plugs turn off on the third ...

I am having the same problems with my 4m40 deli. I have had the glow plugs changed and new seals put in the IP. If you figure it out please let me know.

If the air filter doesn't work and your problem gets worse it could be your fuel pump seal, mine went on me and I had the same issue, it could also be a glow plug issue.

I have the same issue and have had a few things done to try to fix it. Last resort for me is the front pump seal which I am going in to get changed in a week. I'll let you know the outcome.
