Rear defrost

My rear defrost isn't working.

The light on the defrost switch comes on but I'm not getting power to the defrost on the back (checked with a multimeter). The circuit on the window is fine.

Checked the fuses and they seem fine too.

Anybody have this problem? And ideas?

I have a feeling that it is a broken wire, anybody have any suggestions where to start?

Thanks

had the same problem, turned out to be a broken wire in the rummer boot where the wire goes from the door to the body of the van. right side.

Thanks for the info jos_mclean.
The broken wire was just where you said it would be. Probably broken from the opening and closing of the rear hatch.
I have attached a pic. The rear defroster wire is black with a red tracer.
I found another broken wire in there as well. A green wire with silver stripes. This turned out to be for the right side back up light.
All soldered up and everything works like a charm.
The pic is of the wires inside the rubber boot which is at the top right side of the rear hatch.

I also have what appears to be defroster wires which run around the perimeter of the left rear side window. There is an electrical connection to this. I tested and there is no power.
Is this a defroster?
Is it powered by the same switch as for the rear window defroster?
If it is a defroster I am assuming it is for the driver to get a clear view out that window when shoulder checking to change lanes?
