Is it possible to replace the backlight for the compass with an LED?
I replaced the inclinometer and voltage meter lights with white T10 LEDs, but the compass is another matter: The light is inside the compass' casing.
I didn't try to open the casing, not sure how to do that and I didn't want to risk breaking the compass since it works.
The compass won't see any changes for the foreseeable future, unless someone has done this before.

I have a loose compass/tempurature display from the bezel frame I modified. I have been wanting to mount it in where digital clock resides.....if it will fit that is.
I will open it up and take pics so you know what you are dealing with. I suspect the lights, if any, will be soldered in place to the circuit board.

Opened up my spare temperature display and then realized you said compass which is on the ceiling on the Super Exceed. Because the compass is already LED I suspect the light cant be changed...like the one in the temp. display.
At anyrate if anyone is interested in what's inside the temp display heres some images. And there is a light in the display but its hard wired and bonded in the glass (my screwdriver is pointing to it).

Compass on the ceiling? On my Super Exceed it's in the dash binnacle. Yes, it has a bulb that you can change, it's mounted in the back in a bulb holder which you undo by turning a quarter turn with a flat screwdriver. The standard bulb has a little green condom on it to give the colour, but you can bin that and mount an LED with not much effort. I went with blue

Well that's a new one for me. It. Didn't know the binnacle came with 2 different digital displays. The one I opened was in/out temperature only.
Pat: if you have the dual display type that Diver showed you should go back into your gauge and see where that removable bulb is.
