Seat and Floor covers

I just got a '95 L400. The only thing not top shape about it is the seats... that velvety microfibre is a bit frayed.
I'd like to cover the seats. Any recommendations for either re-upholstering or preferably seat covers for the chairs? I know I can make the standard cheapys from CT work, but I'd like something that can handle the arms and headrests as well. It's going to be used for a lot of vehicle shuttles for whitewater paddling, so something that can handle getting wet would be nice too.
Similarly, the floor is in decent shape, but I'd like to cover it with something that will handle some muck and water. For the floor I'm debating either just laying some indoor/outdoor carpet over, or going a little more heavy duty and taking those interlocking rubber tiles (they sell them for kids playrooms and for garages) and cutting them up to fit the inside. Something that I can remove and hose down from time to time and will protect the carpet a bit.
Anyone done either of these? Any recommendations?
