Guys & Gals
Come winter camping in the Chilliwack River valley. We'll stay either at the Tamahi bridge campgrounds or camp for free on the Foley Creek FSR. Stay tuned for details!

So far there's interest in cross country skiing, steelhead fishing, snowshoeing, tobogganing, communal dinner Saturday 5:30 plus a fun snow course gymkanna Saturday and a JDM rally Sunday . Come for the day or weekend and bring your kids along too. Of course when the kids are asleep we can have a few rum toddys for medicinal purposes. LOL too!

Bring your tirechains, camp stoves, propane or electric lights/heaters and generators, chairs too. I have a 8X12 shelter and 6' long table but would like to have another shelter and table as well. Anyone with a portable garage??

We need traffic cones and volunteers with stopwatches for the gymkana. Any sponsors with small prizes in our group??

Communal dishes of all kinds for Saturdays dinner are mandatory. Desserts too! Bring your own plates/cups and cutlery.

I'll scout out the camping spots available and provide details as we get closer. Maybe some small costs but we'll see. Any ideas?

Warm up your sleeping bags and turn on your heaters, lets have some fun. :-D :-D

Falco- If we still have an events calendar, could you add this event to it.

Thx
Wayne

We would love to go, it seems lot of fun!!! But it would have to be a bit later in the season, we won’t be able to make it on these dates.

I would also love to go later in the year for sure. That weekend is still a possibility but I'm not sure that work could afford to lose me in the middle of the ski season.

Definitely starving for winter camping and fun, just need to make a deal with Mrs. Delicat... It will be a tough sell, I've been driving her crazy over the holiday with all the time I've spent working on the truck!

Will advise asap!

Cheers,
Mr. D

Guys
I was up the Chilliwack valley near the lake Monday and was hoping to see some low elevation snow. Should come soon. I'll be back next week to finalize a camp site for the weekend.

All the rec sites are closed off for the winter, unfortunately, and a change this year. One private site may be open and I'll check on costs next week. Lots of free sites to camp at but I need to know how many are going.

Rich D has requested a fire so I'm looking for a chain saw and splitting maul to cut up firewood? Anyone??

Hopefully someone has the tools as it is very warm and social. I'll look for a firepit up on the Chilliwack.

take care

Unfortunately we won't be able to make it :(

But regarding open sites:
We went camping there in December and all the sites are closed except for Thurston Meadows which is open all year.
It's a nice site with a really nice host...
Might be a good alternative in case you don't find a free spot big enough to accommodate everybody

Have fun :-)

I tried, :-( no go for me until a few months (has nothing to do with lovely wife). We're just in the process of buying/selling/moving house, way too much on my plate at this time.

Have fun guys!

Hi Wayne, I'm packed, and busy making hearty campfire munchies. Got the electric blanket in the sleeping bag, and the new spare battery. We have our side awning that we can use for a communal kitchen area, and we have heaps of tarps, and herds of small wood for fire, and the big axe and handsaw for firewood. cheers, christine.
