Point Roberts Delica's

Hi,

So I live in Tsawwassen and am down in Point Roberts at least once a week for Diesel. I was surprised to see another Delica (green, low roof) 2 places back from me in the border line-up. I'm interested in how many people on this forum head down to the States to get their gas and of those how many are happy with the product as I know the fuel at many of the stations down there is questionable (at least in terms of storage and additives)!? Which places are the best to go to and what fuel do you get with which additives?

Considering the stigma generally associated with diesel fuel, I would only buy it from a truck stop or a fuel station that you see a lot of trucks going to (and using the diesel pump). This would also ensure there is adequate turnover of product in the tank in order to limit water condensation and biological growth. Stagnant diesel becomes nasty un-burnable diesel and that just won't make your ride go.

Other than that, I've never taken my diesel vehicles south o' the 49th, so I don't know about the price or the quality.

There is tons of movement at one of the shadier (and cheaper) gas stations but as it doesn't look to have been renovated in a long time, so I pay slightly more for diesel at the Shell station where it has more additives and hopefully better quality storage tanks. Because of the major price difference (about $10-15 per fill-up) there seems to be a lot of people going across the border to fuel up. Whether that is for diesel or gas I don't know but Americans and people from South Delta all seem to love their trucks... 8-)
