Hey everyone,

Thought I should formally introduce myself on the forum

New to the site, new to Delicas, but have wanted one since I was on a summer trip to the island back in 2008, where I saw a great many of these super-funky vans!! "That's my next vehicle!" I told myself :-)

I was driving a 91 4Runner then, up until the end of July, where an assumed quick oil change and inspection pre-roadtrip turned into "Your Toyota is not roadworthy" about 12 hours before we were to leave on a 2-week trip to Washington state. After the initial heart-attack, we figured out transportation and had a great vacation. I decided that at 446,000kms, my 4Runner would have to be retired, as it just didn't make sense to put any more time and $$ into her.

A work friend had overheard my toyota woes, and mentioned he knew of a Delica in GP for sale, a 94 Space Gear. Instantly I remembered my intention from years past, and was excited at the prospect of finally owning a Delica! Although the SpaceGear wasn't the van for me, I found a beautiful 93 L300 Exceed on Kijiji in Calgary at a price I could afford. Test drove it for 5 minutes and I was in love. Bought it the next day!

So here I am, excited to own a very unique, very comfortable, and very capable vehicle. My gf and I road-trip to music festivals and campgrounds all summer, we winter camp, and make other long trips around Alberta and BC throughout the year, so I feel this van will suit our needs to a tea.

This site and forum is amazing, it has helped me immensly so far, and I know it will continue to do so. It's great to see such a dedicated and friendly bunch of people willing to share their experiences and support one another - I hope that I am able to give back to this community soon!

Here's a pic of my new ride. We haven't named her yet, but I like to call her 'the StarWagon' for now :-D

I've got more pictures from out first Delica camping trip last weekend, and there'll be more yet from our second outing this long weekend, so I'll try to start a photo album on here soon!

Anyways, thanks to everyone so far, looking forward to sharing some great experiences with you all!

Cheers :M

Welcome to Delica Canada, Nate :M

L300 is a wise choice. Like most vehicles they will require maintenance & upkeep ~ the great thing about an L300 is you can work on them without a computer, they're simple.
