TX-1 lightweight offroad rims - Group buy?

I'm going to order rims from Australia and want to see if anybody else out there is interested in getting a set too. These rims are bullet proof and have a similar strength than steel rims but still are relatively light weight. Load rating is 3000lbs per rim. These are the replacement of the legendary Outback TX-1 rims, which got used a lot for offroad racing, but not available anymore. They are in my opinion the best affordable offroad rims for Delicas. Steel rims are too heavy and take too much power away but regular street alloy rims a prone to crack if they get abused offroad.

They are available in silver, black and in white.

So far I asked for these common sizes, but there are more available.

15x7
6 on 139.7
-4mm offset
8.6kg
67mm to 108mm hub bore
AU$90

16x6
6 on 139.7
-6mm offset
8.8 kg
67 to 108mm hub bore
AU$120

16x7
6 on 139.7
-4mm and +4mm offset
9.07kg
67 to 108mm hub bore
AU$120

The rims itself are actually not expensive, but obviously the shipping is not cheap. It depends how many people are interested. If we order two sets, the shipping would be around AU$240 per set, but if we order three or more we can bring it down to below AU$200 per set.

So what do you guys think? Anybody interested?

Cheers

$120AU x 5 rims + $200 AU for shipping comes out to $756 canadian.

$152 per rim shipped. Not bad. 8-)

Those rims look great. I'd love to have another set of rims for my off road tires. Unfortunately no cash at the moment for any non-necessities for the van. :-(

Which ones would work best for 31s?

Looks like there are different colors as well, no?

Cheers,
Steve

Not to hijack this thread...

But what does the offset refer to? And how is it measured?

Thanks.

Is there a maximum L300/400s can do before it causes problems?

Cheers

Just can speak for l300s. On a 7" wide rim you don't want to go with more negative offset than around 5mm. Otherwise the front wheels sticks out too much. Depending on your tire size, you might need to use the grinder in the front and trim a little bit.
Most of the time you are limited with the available offset from the rim manufacturer anyway.
