Good video. We all need to take a step back and look at what how we can constructively respond to the conflict in front of us. The teacher is this situation was very wise in my opinion. Letting the kids come to the appropriate solution. Anybody who has been a teacher or knows one will also be aware that school is more about learning how to socialize. Studies show that kids leave high school retaining less than 5% of what they "learned". As my signature indicates, I'm a social worker, but my more accurate title would be a mediator as I've been trained specifically in this area and practice mediation for better than 15yrs. What the teacher did here is facilitate a group session very effectively. He gave the power to the students, validating their concerns and allowing their voices to be heard and assisted them in realizing the best solution to problem. OK I'm rambling to much now so I'll stop now and get back to the toughest clients I have ever had to work with (note I've worked with Justice and Social Assistance). I do mediation with parents who have kids but don't live together. Now they need to learn to communicate so the kid can stop suffering from THEIR conflict.
Spinning wrenches is my favorite past time as the solution can always be found if you do enough digging around on the vehicle and places like this forum... and maintain your patience.
