I love this forum. So much knowledge, and so many loyal users with that knowledge. Thanks in advance for all the great help!

Here are the symptoms of my current problem.

Interior dome lights (dash works fine) don't work.
Stereo has no power (except for a quick flash sometimes as I cycle the key to start the engine).

Would these be on a fuse or is there some other potential cause?

Have you changed the JDM stereo for a new one? It sounds like the stereo is not wired correctly: power is going to accessory and vice versa.

Hmmm, interesting. I wasn't doing the stereo yet because it didn't have power. Cart and horse, egg and chicken situation. Interesting though that the lights behind the station presets and other buttons on the stereo do light up at night. Surprised me as I thought the backlight would be on the same power source as the stereo itself.

Ah, more information, and some remembered data: with the L300s a number of us have had problems with the way the DRL modules have been wired in - you might want to check that out as well. Lights and stereo come off the battery and ACC (which is battery after ignition key, but before START) respectively.

When you do change the stereo, keep in mind that the Mitsubishis tend to have slightly different wiring colours for their stereos than the standard NA arrangement.
