Hello all, I recently saw an add on Used victoria, for Free used hydrolic oil and had to find out what it was about and why anyone would want used hydrolic oil.
I phone the person and talked for a while, the husband services surgical equipment at Hospitals and vet clinics, and uses a super thin weight hydrolic oil, they have a friend in oz that uses it direct in the fuel tank for their toyota diesel van. and they wanted to do the same but never got around to it, I guess the hospitals change the oil in the machines each week and he takes back the old oil. Im told it has a MUCH longer lifespan but who cares its medical equipment and cant risk any failures and besides , the hospital doesent pay for it, WE do....
I took a few pails thinking worst case , I put it into my furnace tank and blend it with my B100 and used motor oil.
after doing some research on the net and talking with the guy more, it turns out that the oil is Optimum for using in a motor and will lubricate the pump & clean the injectors...
I dont know about any cleaned injectors, but I have ALOT more power from my van now , I have a 50/50 blend runing in my Delica and in the chev, so I called and asked if he wanted to get rid of the rest of his stock pile and he was very happy I was using it in a vehicle, I ended up with 105, 5 gallon buckets of oil 8-)

Has anyone else on here used other types of oils other than WVO?
I have been stockpiling my WVO and have a little over 3000L now with more due to be picked up, but I am driving alot less so Im getting a nice amount that I can be warm all next winter and not have to buy any pump fuel...
but I would really like to know if other people have used other grades of diesels like trans fluid, hydrolic oil.....

I don't want to highjack but maybe this is similar.

Where I live there is a large used oil tank that is available for whatever I want. It has all kinds of oil in it including motor and hydraulic. The boss says there might be a small amount of antifreeze as well. When talking to him, he mentioned that there is another tank with about 50 gallons of pristine hydraulic oil. Oh, and we have a centrifuge onsite. And lots of stainless tanks, filters, piping and pumps etc.

Hmmm, I think I need some expert advice...

HI Noel,

I've used hydraulic oil before but not in large quantities. I have added a litre here and there with no problems. I imagine it burns hot and clean.

BTW, in the VIU HVAC lab we worked on some oil furnaces and I brought in some of my B100 to test against regular diesel. Our instructor was surprised that it burned cleaner and better than diesel in all the units we tested. It also smelled better 8-) We used a larger diameter nozzle for the spray and that was the only difference.

Im Very happy with the oil, its clear, and burns great, I just bought two of the 1200 L cubes from Joe, (Lunasea) and after many hours of work yesterday I have close to 1000 L left of the hydrolic oil, Im going to put my B100 into it as It gets processed and just blend the two, Im re-vamping my bio garage to do a 100G processor , I just have to much oil coming in to do a 40G any more, it should arrive in the next couple weeks , plumb the centrifuge inline and its going to be a nice set up....
anyone want a few hundred used wvo 16L cubies lol
