Anyone else get a "Delica Pirates" sticker off of Bruce? I think this is a sweet action spot to place it.

Hey Josh, what size tires are you running?. Are you losing much power?

Renny,

I am running 31/10.5/r15 and yes i lost a bit of power, but it handles way better off road. I also am running WVO which i think takes a little bit of power away. I also have a 2.5" exhaust straight pipe, which probably boosts the power a touch, but its tough to say. All in all I feel i still have all the power I ever could expect from a 2.5L van...

So I guess dusty has a friend, and it is a matching black one!... I'll be hopefully picking it up at the docks in november. It will have a ladder and full roof rack as well... and Adrock, you'll be pleased to know that its a 5spd lowroof also.

Just wait till it gets tweaked... its my new bush beater, Rose wants the other one as her own. (and note: the ever coveted slider windows!)

That's great Josh. Another guy in my office is hooked after getting a lift my my deli - and now my wife is thinking about going deli after our Toyota Sienna starts to cost us too much money (soon I think...2001 with 180K on the clock...thought it was cheap, but went through the vehicle file the other day...not happy). I have kids - and friends of kids always - cannot think of a better family vehicle and there is a good chance my household will be Deli x 2 (or is that Deli a Deux) within a couple of years. Hope the law don't change by then!

Hey Josh,
On another note - I see that you are using 31" x 10.5. I've got a friend with RHD Landcruiser with same size tires on Toyota aluminum rims in BFG AT's - I'm going to inherit (ok, purchase) them this spring when he transfer parts over form his existing Canadian 1985 Landy. I notice you don't have the original from mud flaps - did they get in the way, and were there any other mods required other than cranking up the torsion bars all the way? I plan to get either add-a-leaf in the back or re-curved springs bringing up about 2" to match the maxed out torsion bar lift up front. Your input much appreciated considering you've clearly gone this route already by the photo (love the look by the way)?????

jrman,

Thanks for the praise, i think it looks great also. You do have to take off the mudflaps and trim a bit of the trim. You also have to grind off a bit of the front wheel wells and take out a little bar that is between the wheel and the ac/auto trans coolers... doing al that is relatively simple and self explanitory when you have the wheels ready to be fitted. Other than that you do not have to do much, especially if you are going to respring the springs and crank the torsion bars. It does make it look so much cooler.
