i have mitsubishi petro van/wagon very close to the delica without the bells and whistles but i have no rear heat i know about the settings floor for heat top for air, i have used the heat in the past ,with all the controls in the proper position and heat flowing up front still none to the rear, i have located the two hoses under the body feeding the rear core and both are cold to the touch. i am not familiar with make up for rear heat but i would assume that atleast one should be hot and the other warm on the return back to the rad and if the core was blocked one would be hot and the other cold. but for both to be cold i need help.

on the left side of the engine near the rear you should see a T junction where the the front heater hose and rear heater hose connect to the block. Start tracing backwards towards the rear heater core. I had the same thing when I first got my van...turned out to be a clogged line. I replace all rubber hoses and all is warm and toasty now.

ok i have the talivan running and we are at full heat up front i found the T you were talking about the hoses and the T are super hot but the two hoses leading to the back are cold right at the T does this sound like a blockage at the T and should i flush from the T to the rear or back flush from the rear to the T

try to determine the direction of flow, then flush in the opposite direction, if that doesn't work, go the other way :) you can likely figure out the direction of flow by following the heat from the engine, an infer-red temp gun would really help with this. disconnect the hoses when you trying to flush the blockage to avoid breaking anything and/or forcing the blockage into the heater core or up into the block or something nasty

well i think i narrowed it down to a cloged rear core i tried blowing thru one side of the core and nothing went thru no does anyone know the removal of that core

There must be a heater control valve in there somewhere. You might want to check if the rear heat control is turning the valve on and off.

alright update heater core was clogged and was able to clean it now i have heat. I thank you all and my kids thank you for everyones help and advise, this site is a life saver
