Meet & greet at Georgie's Cafe - 13 February 2010, 13h

It's been a while since those of us in Victoria-area got together, so I'm suggesting this place. It's a cafe at 4649 West Saanich Road, and it's got lots of parking, good seating inside, and a varied menu (coffee, biscuits, donuts, sandwiches, soup, etc).

I'll be there starting at 13h (or 1pm), and I'll probably hang around for a couple of hours. It would be nice to see the regulars, some not-so-regulars, and maybe even some new faces.

I'd try to make it down for that but I am going to be flying out to Australia a couple of days before. Lots of changes happening for me, but I get to keep Hazel.... For any that have met us, Hazelnut is leaving... Heading off on a new life... All amicable though, but I need a little time away so am going to visit a "friend" (yep - online!) down-under for a bit. Have a good meet - Me and the dogs and Hazel will try to make the next one - Rathtrevor in March...?

Sadly I will be out at sea on the mighty Algonquin, protecting the olympians from the evil evil Taliban! Putting my life in harm's way for the greater good! (Althought the only harm that will come to me is if I suffer a boredom- related injury!)

Oh, and Mararmeisto, I just sent a PM to Glen, asking him to keep and eye out for something like Monty! :-D

Hi all...Is that what used to be the Ploughshare's market - just down from Royal Oak Drive? I used to go there eons ago to buy yummy veggies and raw honey.

Any rate, we'll try to get there for a coffee fix, I put it on the calendar.

Looks like we'll be able to make this one too, and sporting a new-to-me Terzo courtesy of Jesse as well. Right now it's kind of a "ladder to nowhere" but hopefully the rack situation will get sorted before too long and the little lady will quit mocking me for it...what can you do about a lack of vision eh?

See you there!

And just so everyone knows, I thought this could be more of a JDM-meet than Delica-specific. I think I see interest from across the forum...

Diversity is good. It will make it easier to pick sides for the snowball fight (weather permitting). :M

Very nice once again to put faces to all the internet handles we operate under. Although I did leave with a bad case of intercooler envy
after looking at all that"late model" JDM hardware on display. It seems like more and more are being seduced by the lure of 2.8 L aerodynamic L400 newness. "Look away Andy! keep your cheque book in your pocket, only 200,000 more km to go" (at 90km/hr that
should only take a few years). It was fun to get together again, we should do a group camping trip this summer.

Is that an L350 second from the right?

Been busy the past couple of days and was unable to wrap up this thread properly.

Good turnout for the Victoria-area: 4 L300s, 2 L400s, and a SWB Pajero (no, it's not a L350). I thought it was interesting how different the layout of the engine bays were between the Pajero and the L400s (and even the intercooler is a different size); loved modsquad's Mexican paint job (now he's got an 'all-black' as well); and, as always Tundra, the big white dog!

One of my co-workers drove by while we were outside looking and pointing and he asked what I was doing out in his neighbourhood. "Having coffee with my friends."

In the parking lot?

"Only way we can look at the vehicles."

Car show?

"Not really, but what with the different models and the new '95s available..."

1995 is new?

"Well, under the 15-year rule, and being RHD..."

Oooohhhhh. He was confused as to why a bunch of us would be out in the parking lot when there were perfectly good seats inside.

Anyway, next one is in a couple of months, and we'll try for a camping gathering. French Beach? Rathtrevor Beach? Or where was the lake we went a couple of years ago?
